A New Story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Objectives: – to develop students’ speaking and listening skills;

 -to improve English pronunciation and intonation;

– to enrich  vocabulary;

-to foster  students’ motivation for learning English;

-to develop students’ memory, attention and acting skills.

• Walkie-Talkie (Буркотун)
• Scuffler (Забіяка)
• Sleep-Lover           (Сонько)

 

• Highway Robbers
• Snowflakes

 

Compere: Very far away in a thick dark wood there lived Snow White and seven Dwarfs. The story I am going to tell you is about the adventures they had once on the New Year’s Eve. But let’s start from the very morning.

          Звук будильника.

Can you hear the alarm-clock? It’s time for the Dwarfs to get up. Who, do you think, is the earliest riser of all of them? This  is Neatie!

Виходить Чистюля з рушником, милом, зубною пастою і щіткою.

Neatie: If you want to be healthy, remember to wash your hands regularly. There is a saying “A sound mind in a clean body”.

Compere: Meet Absent-Mindie.

 Виходить Забудько в різних шкарпетках, куртка навиворіт, шнурки незав’язані.

Neatie:(до Забудька) Oh, dear! What happened to your socks? Why are they of different colours?

Absent-Mindie: Really? (дивиться здивовано на ноги) Right you are, but colour doesn’t matter.

Compere: And this Dwarf is the cleverest of all, so he is called Know-all.

Виходить Всезнайко. Він в окулярах, під рукою величезна книга. Він робить обчислення і коментує їх вголос.

Know-all: Four hundred and thirty-five times seventy-one equals … equals …

Вибігає Веселун.

Fun–Maker: (до Всезнайки) Stop doing sums, Know-all. It’s New Year’s Eve today. Time to have fun and to celebrate.

На сцену виходить Буркотун.

Walkie-Talkie: To celebrate? And how about the housework? Water hasn’t  been brought! Firewood hasn’t been cut! Who was on duty yesterday? And who is going to cook breakfast today?

Вибігає Забіяка з величезними синцем під оком,в темних окулярах і  з боксерськими рукавицями..

Scuffler: What did you say about breakfast, Walkie-Talkie? I am so hungry. Is there anything tasty in the fridge? But it isn’t my turn to do the cooking today. Oh, look! Here comes Sleep–Lover. He is always sleeping! Why don’t he do the cooking for a change?

Виходить Сонько, несе подушку, сонний.

Sleep–Lover : What’s the time? Let’s stay in bed for an hour or two longer.  Anyway, it’s New Year’s Eve today!

На сцену виходить Білосніжка.

Snow White: Is everyone here? It’s time to do morning exercises. Look at me and do as I do. Ready? Steady? Go!

Під відповідну музику Гномики роблять ранкову зарядку, але неохоче, ліниво. Раптом прибігає Посланець Діда Мороза.

Messenger: Attention! Attention, please! New Year Party! Father Frost and Snow Maiden invite everyone to their palace to see  the New Year in! Hurry up! New Year is coming! (вибігає)

 Всі Гномики розбігаються, шукають свої рюкзаки і ліхтарики. Швиденько шикуються.

Snow White: Stand in a line! Let’s check if everybody is here. (робить перекличку)

Snow  White: Neatie!

Neatie: I am.

Snow White: Walkie-Talkie!

Walkie–Talkie: Here.

Snow White: Fun-Maker!

Fun-Maker: Yeah!

Snow  White: Scuffler!

Scuffler: Ready to set off.

Snow  White: Know-all!

Know-all: I am Know-all.

Snow White: Sleep-Lover!

Sleep–Lover (позіхає): I’m here.

Snow White: Absent-Mindie! Absent-Mindie! Where’s Absent- Mindie?

Absent-Mindie (добігає ): I’m here. We can start.

Dwarfs (разом ): Oh! At last!

Compere: So the Dwarfs set off on foot for the Father Frost’s palace. It started to snow heavily, but they didn’t stop walking.

Чути завивання хуртовини. Герої ідуть.Звуки хуртовини затихають,починає звучати музика. Сніжинки кружляють в танці навколо наших героїв.

Compere: But suddenly…

Звучить тривожна музика. На сцену вибігають розбійники. Чути постріли, крики, свист. Гномики залякано втікають в куток сцени і присідають, тулячись один до одного. Розбійники оточують Білосніжку, прикладають до носа ганчірку з  хлороформом. Вона втрачає свидомість, опускається на землю. Розбійники зникають, несучи з собою Білосніжку. Тиша. Гномики повільно піднімаються і, злякано озираючись, підходять до центру сцени.

Neatie: Oh, no! Look at my jacket! I’ve torn it. (плаче)

Absent–Mindie: Stop crying! What was that? And who knows where Snow White is?

Know-all: Snow White has been kidnapped.

Walkie –Talkie: Poor Snow White! What will we do now? So, we won’t have any fun. And no presents, as usual!

Know-all: Be quiet! Everyone, keep silent! Listen to me and follow my instructions! I’m going to work out the strategy how to save Snow White.

Scuffler: I don’t need any strategy. I can knock them all down with my left hand.

Fun-Maker: Really? You have already demonstrated your fighting skills. Do you want to have the other eye bruised?

Sleep-Lover: Sh! Keep silent!   Чути, як рипить сніг.

Сan you hear the crunching sounds? Someone’s coming!

Гномики повільно відступають назад. На сцену виходять зв’язані розбійники. Білосніжка тримає рушницю і нею підштовхує їх вперед. Гномики, побачивши Білосніжку, радісно підбігають до неї.

Dwarfs: Dear Snow White! You are alive! We were so worried about you!

Snow White: Do you think, I do my morning exercises every day just  for fun? Exercising improves your health and makes you stronger.  I am not afraid of any Highway Robbers now.

Highway Robbers: (плачуть) Forgive us, Snow White! We are so sorry! We’ll never attack or rob people again, we promise. Could we go to the New Year Party with you, please?

Snow White: So, what do you think, my dear Dwarfs? Do you believe them?

Dwarfs:(разом) Yes,we do. Let them have  a chance to change their life.

Snow White: OK!  Untie their hands then!

           Гномики розв’язують руки  розбійникам.

Snow White: We have to go on walking immediately. Hurry up to be on time!

Звучить фінальна новорічна пісня у виконанні Білосніжки і всіх героїв.
